Legal information on the content of our website

It is one of our guiding principles that we take great care over our work and research. We would ask visitors to our website to note the following liability information when using content provided on the site.

Liability for content

The content of our web pages has been created with the utmost care. We cannot, however, offer any guarantee that the content is always correct, complete and up to date. As the service provider, we are responsible according to Section 7 para. 1 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG) for our own content on the site under general law. In accordance with Sections 8 to 10 TMG, however, as the service provider we have no obligation to monitor information provided or stored by third parties, nor to search for circumstances that might indicate illegal activity. This does not affect any of our obligations under general law to remove or prevent the use of information. In this respect, however, our liability commences only from the point in time at which we become aware of a breach of the law. On becoming aware of breaches of the law, we will promptly remove such content.

Liability for links

Our website contains links to external, third-party websites over whose content we have no control. For this reason, we cannot accept responsibility for such third-party content. The relevant providers or operators of linked sites will always be responsible for their content. Linked sites have been checked for possible legal breaches at the time when the link is created and no illegal content will have been identified at that point. It is not practicable, however, to monitor linked sites constantly without specific indications of illegal activity. On becoming aware of breaches of the law, such links will be promptly removed.

Copyright

Content and work created by the site operator on this site is subject to German copyright law. Duplication, processing, distribution or any form of exploitation of such content in contravention of copyright requires written permission from the author or creator of that content. Downloading and copying of this site is permitted only for private, non-commercial use. Any content on this site that has not been created by the site operator is used subject to third-party copyright. Third-party content is specifically identified as such. Should you nonetheless become aware of any infringement of copyright, please inform us. On becoming aware of breaches of the law, such content will be promptly removed.

Data Protection

Any enquiries on the subject of data protection should be addressed to datenschutz@mgm-cp.com. As a rule, it is not possible to use our website without providing personal data. When personal data (e.g. name, address or email address) are collected on our site, this is done wherever possible on a voluntary basis. Such data will NOT be passed on to third parties without your express consent. We would draw your attention to the fact that data transmitted over the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) is open to potential breaches in security. Complete protection of data from access by third parties is not possible. It is expressly forbidden for third parties to use contact data provided in compliance with German legal publishing obligations (‘Impressum’) to transmit any promotional material or information that has not been expressly requested. The operators of the site expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the case of unsolicited promotional information being sent, by means of spam emails for example.

Google Analytics and Google remarketing

By way of explanation, cookies are small text files that are stored on the user’s computer. With these text files, user behaviour when visiting the website can be analysed and then used to deliver targeted product recommendations and promotional material based on the user’s interests. We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereafter referred to as ‘Google’). Google Analytics uses cookies that allow it to analyse your use of our website and online services. The information generated by means of the cookie on your use of the site and online services is transferred to, and stored on, a Google server in the USA.

mgm uses Google Analytics with the ‘anonymizelp’ extension, so that the IP addresses transferred to Google have previously been truncated and reprocessed on servers located in Europe, in order to prevent them from being related directly to individuals. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information to analyse your visit to our website, to compile reports on website activities for us and to provide further services related to use of the website and of the internet. Google will also transfer such information to third parties in some circumstances, where this is legally permissible or where such third parties are processing the data on Google’s behalf. In no case will Google associate your IP address with other data that it holds. You can prevent the installation of the Google Analytics cookie by means of a setting in your browser software; we would advise you that if you do so, you may not be able to use all of the functions we provide to their full extent. The future collection and storage of data by Google Analytics can be prevented at any time by means of a browser plug-in from Google. When the link informing us of your objection is enabled, we set a cookie on your browser that tells us to prevent the use of Google Analytics on your device. Please note that you will need to renew this objection if you delete the cookies in your browser. We also use Google’s remarketing technology. With this technology, users who have previously visited our website and online services and have shown an interest in our services will receive targeted advertising on the pages of partners in the Google Partner network. Such advertising is displayed through the use of cookies. If you do not wish to receive advertising targeted to your interests, you can deactivate Google’s use of cookies for such purposes by visiting https://www.google.com/settings/u/0/ads and deactivating interest-related advertising. Alternatively, users can deactivate the use of cookies by third-party providers, by visiting the deactivation page of the Network Advertising Initiative at www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp. By using our services, you consent to the processing of data collected about you by Google in the manner described above, for the specified purpose.

We would advise you that Google has its own data protection policies that are independent of our own. We accept no responsibility or liability for these policies and processes. Before using our website, please take time to learn about Google’s data protection regulations.
